perfect if you need a pad but don't have power close by

| this unit is a great addition to the Skylink base kits. I use this in locations where I don't have power for a base unit but still would like a pad close to the entry. The unit runs on a 12v lithium battery that seems like it will be easy to service when the time comes. The only drawback of the pad as has been noted by others in the lack of backlighting ...I have not found this to be an issue but for some this might be needed. The working range for mine is about 40 feet upstairs and around..(I have it on a lower entry door just inside) |
Works Great...

| The keypad works great. The system is used on a daily basis for nearly 6 months now on the same batteries it came with. Easy to add to my Skylink alarm system. I recommend everyone read the instructions prior to adding to your system, it will save you a lot of time and works great. I am very pleased. |
Works perfect

I mounted the Skylink keypad at the garage entrance to the house about 50' from the base unit. It works perfectly and in my case is close enough to the base unit that I can hear the base unit from the keypad location so it is not an issue that the keypad does not have the audio feedback of the base unit.
It was easy to install, less than 15 minutes total including getting out and putting away the tools. |

| Great Product to go with skylink alarm system. allows arming/disarming of the system. No wires. Good to put at your back door, or in your bedroom. Has a panic button to instantly sound the alarm. |
Works perfectly, has a few shortcomings

I bought this keypad to go along with the Skylink SC-001 alarm panel I purchased. It lets you place an additional keypad for easier arming/disarming without having to get to the main panel. So far it has functioned perfectly and I have no complaints with the operation of the unit, especially since it's wireless and looks nice and clean.
I do have a couple wishes for future upgrades to this unit that would make it more functional, although I'm sure it would add to the cost a bit. Anyway, here they are:
-the Keypad Control (KP-434) should show the armed/disarmed status of the alarm. It only has two lights: "Low Battery" and "On". The only time the "On" light comes on is when you are using the keypad.
-the keypad keys should be backlit when you are using it. This might make the battery life shorter however, but it would be a nice feature.
Other than that, I have no issues and highly recommend this product.
