| I had installed it just a week ago and I'm very satisfied by now. This device is easy to use and install, have good range and loud alarm. If I could, I'll only change the 30 seconds to active the alarm after it sense any movement. Using a remote control 15 seconds could be enough to disarm the alarm when you arrive home. |

I recently purchased two of these motion detector alarms. I had a few questions before purchasing that the other reviewers hadn't answered. I'll try to give a complete review to help others who might be considering the purchase.
The units feel a bit cheap, but they do work as described. They have two operating modes: chime and alarm - controlled by a tiny switch on the side of the remote. The chim mode sounds a doorbell like chime (fairly loud) when someone moves across the beam. The alarm has a 45 second exit and 30 second entry time. Many people obviously want a shorter entry time, fearing that a burglar would have too much time to get into the house.
A couple minor operating points. When the alarm is first tripped starting the 30 second countdown, it sounds a single loud beep. That can be good or bad. It might alert you, but it also alerts the intruder - perhaps allowing him time to disable the alarm before it sounds. When the alarm finally does go off, hold you ears because it's quite loud at 120dB.
The remote uses a small watch type battery that is included. The remote is very simple to operate with "enable" and "disable" buttons. The motion sensor itself takes 3AA batteries that are not included. The units come with a plastic swivel wall-mount bracket, screws, and sheetrock inserts. The motion sensors will not sit flat on a table, because their bases are rounded.
The manufacturer apparently has a problem with quality control. As other reviewers have pointed out, there is a problem with the screw holding on the battery compartment. I bought two units and the screw on one unit was crossthreaded into the plastic and impossible to remove without stripping the head. The screw on the second unit came right out without any problem. I've since exchanged the first unit.
I hope this answers any remaining questions. If not, please feel free to ask me.

Works GREAT For Soft-Top Jeeps!

| I picked this up at Walmart today, and installed it on the inside of my Jeeps tailgate door, facing forward. I'm using this as a deterent against anyone getting into the back of my Jeep, and stealing my Gear, since I ride with the Soft-Top down during the Summer months. Also, with the Soft-Top up, if someone unzips/cuts my windows to get at my Radio or Gear, it'll hopefully deter them and they'll leave quickly. The ONLY thing I don't like, is the 30-Second Alarm Delay. Once the Sensor is Armed with the Remote, the Alarm should activate immediately when motion is sensed. There shouldn't be a 30-Second Delay, with a Blinking Light and a Chirp, to alert the Intruder. Also, I painted mine Black, to match my Jeeps interior, so that it would blend in better, rather than the White being too visible, and giving away it's position. |

If you are looking for a budget security system, this is really the one for you. The siren is too loud for such a small device.
The only default is that when you enter the perimeter, it will give you a beep alert with a flashing light (Easy to detect by a burgular) for a 40 seconds till you de-activate it (The burgular can just break it). If the timer of the alert was 20 seconds which I think should be enough for you to enter and de-activate and not enough time for the burgular to think. It could be used only if you are living alone since it comes with one remote. I think it will be best used in your shop if you own one. |
